We are currently recruiting globally, and we are looking to add to our production team:
Reporting to the Vice President (VP) Power Sources, the Production Manager is accountable for and will oversee the day-to-day production and leadership matters within the high volume, high product mix, lithium-ion cell manufacturing department. The Production Manager is a key member of the manufacturing and production organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and train a cross-functional manufacturing team to ensure successful product launches in lithium-ion cells;
- Create, maintain, and communicate schedules and plans for cell manufacturing to include process development, process validation, equipment layout, equipment fabrication, shipping, and standard operating procedures;
- Develop and report key performance indicators to leadership;
- Coordinate production demand with Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities and Production teams;
- Coordinate the commissioning and qualification of manufacturing equipment FAT’s etc.;
- Lead Kaizen efforts to support continuous improvements and use Total Quality Management (TQM) methodologies;
- Provide technical leadership and project management skills and manage production schedule constraints using ERP and MRP software;
- Identify company priorities and motivate personnel to achieve production goals;
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & KEY COMPENTENCIES:
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a mix of engineering and production environments including testing equipment and automation as it relates to batteries and cells in a high volume and high product mix environment;
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Able to communicate with technical and non-technical team members effectively;
- Work well under a fast-paced environment and can manage conflicting priorities;
- Previous experience in new product introduction launches;
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage large teams;
- Ability to adapt to and make decisions based on manufacturing data;
- Able to exercise sound judgment, is self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize key requirements in a demanding environment;
- Highly conversant with Microsoft Office;
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and exceed deadlines.
