FAQs

How does the HomeGrid monitoring app work?

The HomeGrid monitoring app is designed primarily for installer fleet monitoring. To access it, installers must be HomeGrid certified. Once certified, you can download the app and request a login by contacting HomeGrid support at 1 (725) 373-5350. The app makes it simple to monitor HomeGrid batteries, modular energy storage systems, and overall performance for dependable home energy backup systems.

How long does it take to install a HomeGrid system?

For experienced, certified installers, a HomeGrid modular home battery system can typically be installed and commissioned in about 15 minutes. For newer installers, or for more complex projects involving multiple HomeGrid batteries connected in parallel, installation may take 30 minutes or more. Either way, the HG Cube and HomeGrid Stack’d Series are engineered for quick, seamless setup—making whole home backup power more accessible than ever.

What is the maximum number of modules per HomeGrid battery stack?

Each HomeGrid Stack’d modular energy storage system supports up to eight modules per stack, providing 38.4 kWh of capacity. For homeowners who need even more energy storage, additional stacks can be added in parallel—up to fifteen total—creating one of the most scalable home battery systems available for full home backup power.

How do I connect multiple battery stacks?

Multiple HomeGrid battery stacks are connected using communication cables. Up to fifteen 8-module stacks can be linked together, though inverter limitations may apply. To ensure safety and performance, all stacks must contain the same number of modules. Detailed instructions can be found in the installation manual [insert link]. Always follow the safety guidelines in the manual and local AHJ regulations when configuring your energy storage system.

Is the Stack’d Series/HG Cube AC-coupled or DC-coupled?

The HomeGrid Stack’d Series and HG Cube modular home battery systems are DC-coupled. This design delivers higher efficiency by reducing the number of conversions, which can also translate into cost savings over time. In addition, DC coupling is a safe and reliable option for homeowners looking for a long-lasting lithium home battery and scalable solar battery backup solution.

What inverter brands are compatible with HomeGrid?

HomeGrid battery systems have UL9540 certification for on-grid connections with Sol-Ark (12K-2P and Limitless 15K), and select Solis and Megarevo inverters. For off-grid installations, HomeGrid is “inverter agnostic” and can integrate with a wide variety of inverter brands. This flexibility ensures that HomeGrid energy storage solutions fit seamlessly into almost any home energy backup system.
