Henderson, NV – [January 2026] – The first U.S. facility producing U.S.-made 26650 cylindrical cells has achieved a new milestone in strengthening the domestic supply of high-quality battery cells. Lithion Power Sources (LPS), a Lithion Battery company, now operates under the ISO 9001 standard (part of the ISO 9000 family of quality management standards), and continues to move toward a largely non-FEOC bill of materials while maintaining full ownership of its cell-design and manufacturing IP.
These steps position LPS to set a higher standard for domestic cylindrical cell production and reinforce the growth of U.S. battery manufacturing.
For industries such as defense, robotics, industrial UPS, aviation, and medical devices, secure and compliant sourcing is critical. LPS supports these needs by producing non-FEOC-sourced 26650 battery cells in the U.S. and expanding its network of domestic and non-FEOC suppliers.
Today, 75% of the cell bill of materials can be sourced from compliant vendors, with a goal of exceeding 95% by mid-2026. This progress strengthens U.S. battery manufacturing and gives customers a reliable alternative to imported products.
As LPS strengthens its physical supply chain, it also has secured the technology behind its products. The company owns all intellectual property related to its 26650 cell design and manufacturing processes, with no FEOC-licensed technologies involved.
This U.S.-based IP ownership ensures customers receive American-made batteries with secure origins, full design control, and long-term compliance.
The first production cell from the Henderson line is a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) 26650 Power Cell with a 20C continuous discharge capability, built for high-power applications.
Lithion Power Sources has also commercialized an energy-optimized 3.9Ah 26650 Energy Cell with a 4C continuous discharge rating, expanding the range of U.S.-made cells for industries that have long relied on imports.
These new offerings strengthen domestic access to U.S.-made 26650 cylindrical cells and broaden the availability of high-performance cells made in an ISO 9001 compliant facility for critical sectors.
LPS expects to scale production to 100,000 cells per month by mid-2026, with plans to double that output in 2027. Long-term, the facility is designed to reach up to 700,000 cells per month, supporting U.S. battery manufacturing at scale.
To meet future customer needs, LPS has also acquired equipment to begin producing larger-format 46XXX cylindrical cells, expanding its capabilities for energy storage, transportation, industrial, and defense applications.
